The 2004 image was taken September 30th from Hurlock, Dorchester County, MD. Uncommon. E. violaris is one of two Maryland Euxoa which are restricted to areas of loose sand on the Eastern Shore, the other being E. detersa. Food is unrecorded. The specimen was provided and identified by John Glaser of Berkeley Springs, WV.
