Abundant in western Maryland, rare eastward in the State. All., Balt., Garrett and Wash. Counties. At light and commonly at bait. September 5th to October 22. Caterpillar on alder, birch and willow. This is another essentially northern Oligia, dipping into Maryland chiefly along the Appalachian chain. The most easterly record is Prettyboy Reservoir, Baltimore County, October 1st.
