The 2005 image was taken July 8th, 1997 from Cranesville Swamp, Garrett County, MD. Uncommon. Cherry Creek Glades, June 27th, Hammell Glade, July 10th, Cunningham Swamp, June 23rd, Cranesville Pine Swamp, July 8th, all Garrett County bogs; Millington WMA, Kent County, July 12th. Most of the species of Apamea are northern and scarce at this latitude, and for many, the host is unknown. Those with known foodplants use grasses and sedges. The specimen was provided and identified by John Glaser of Baltimore, MD.
