The image was taken July 8th, 1996 from Garrett State Forest (Bog), Garrett County, MD. Uncommon. A small series taken in three Garrett County bogs. June 9th to July 8th. A northern Acronicta, reaching south into Maryland along the Appalachian Plateau. Larva on birch and perhaps apple.
