The 2002 (M) moth image was taken July 2nd @ H. The WS is approximately 1.5" The 2004 (M) image was taken June 24th. The 2005 images were taken July 3rd. The Saddleback caterpillar grows to a length of approximately 1.0" If one were to brush against the brown spines protruding out from the body they will experience quite a bit of PAIN! The larva feeds on apple, asters, blueberries, corn, dogwoods, elms, grapes, linden, maples, oaks, Prunus species, sunflowers and viburnum.
