The 2002 (M) image was taken June 9th @ H. The 2004 faded (M) image was taken August 13th. According to John Glaser this is a holartic species that extends from coast to coast acros most of North America. The name tertialis applies to the N. America subspecies. The larvae are commonly associated with elder Sambucus ssp., but not so exclusively so as other hosts have been reported. Reared on Viburnim in Nova Scotia (Ferguson,1975:30).
